Coming Soon ~ Shoreline Restaurant
Nestled on an ocean-view, cliff-side site on the central California coast, the Shoreline Restaurant epitomizes a design harmoniously in tune with its environment, welcoming patrons with a warm ambiance that captures both the comfort of home and a revitalizing coastal getaway.
SFJones was given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to design a ground-up building on the bluffs of the picturesque northern California coastline, opening in summer 2011. The beautifully subtle, gently slanting design of the Shoreline Restaurant at Breakers Inn was inspired by the landscape of its Gualala, CA, location, where the wind on the coast blows all of the surrounding trees at a crisp diagonal. Embracing the cliffside location’s striking vistas, SFJones’ design guides patrons from its charming street entrance toward a cozy, central fire pit where a spectacular wall of glass reveals the breathtaking oceanside dining deck. Expanding the scope of the restaurant to include its romantic seaside backdrop, SFJones sculpted a tiered lawn overlooking the water -- fostering the perfect refreshing escape for a destination wedding. The quintessence of local flavor from its soft stone walls to its homey hearths, Breakers Inn welcomes patrons with a warm ambiance that captures both the comfort of home and a revitalizing coastal getaway.
